This kit is designed to replace the Firestone 2520.
Ride-Rite air helper springs are the workhorse of Firestone's air helper spring line. The double convoluted air springs offer maximum load capacity as well as years of worry-free service and support.
Ride-Rite air helper springs are installed between the frame of your vehicle and the suspension, providing load support by using air pressure.
Firestones air springs have become synonymous with quality, durability, and customer support that is second to none. Ride-Rite air bag kits utilize a pair of convoluted air springs which can be adjusted to accommodate your load capacity. The Ride-Rite series is capable of 3,200 - 5,000 lbs. of load level capacity. After installed, your ride will be enhanced by reducing inter-leaf friction which will keep your truck level, reduce suspension fatigue, and increase the stability of your Ford vehicle.
Overall, Ride-Rite air bags have many advantages for your vehicle and will help to improve steering control and braking effectiveness, level headlight beams, reduce tire wear, keep leaf springs from permanent sagging, reduce bottoming out with air cushions between the axle and frame, absorb road shock, and match your vehicles load for an overall improved ride.
The air bags work great and better than expected. Installation was easy. It has completely eliminated any amount of sag while pulling my 5th wheel camper. I will install then on any truck I own in the future.
This is my second set of this air bags I have bought in the last 8 years. The mounting clamps and brackets on this set are different seem more flimsy. The instructions are not quite as clear but if you take your time you can figure it out. The instructions for my 2013 Ford F250 said "The emergency brake cable will have to be tie-wrapped out of the way using the hole provided in the upper bracket. See Figure “A”". Well there was a little more to get this accomplished. But I can say once I had them installed the springs performed just as I expected them to. I haul a cab over camper and pull a 21 ft. boat. Adding the springs adds stability and reduces roll and sway. I would recommend them to anyone wanting to level their truck while increasing control when hauling heavy loads which do not exceed the weight limits of their vehicle. If the instructions were better and the mounting bracket clamps thicker I would have given them 5 stars.
