Heavy Duty Coil Springs
What are Heavy Duty Coil Springs?
Heavy duty coil springs (also referred to as super duty coil springs) by TufTruck are custom designed to give your Dodge or Ford additional load handling capability per pair with only a maximum of 1/2" inch increase in ride height when unloaded. Replacing your coil springs with a heavy duty setup is really one of the only ways to improve the stability of your pickup when the shock is mounted inside of the coil spring. Coilovers and other options will often not work on a full size pickup. What makes adding hd coil springs to your truck unique is the fact that they do not require any maintenance at all. Coil springs will improve the handling and ride quality of vehicles that are heavily loaded which will help with reducing driver’s fatigue.
Who Would Benefit from Coil Springs?
TufTruck coil springs are perfect for drivers who own fleet vehicles, pickups, vans or motorhomes and have heavy duty bumpers with a winch or want to add a snowplow. The coil springs will give you additional load support to the front and eliminate the saggy look that you would get when adding more weight to the front. To help with the weight when you are hauling heavy loads or towing that horse trailer, we offer heavy duty coil springs for the rear.
Heavy Duty Coil Springs vs. Coil Spring Spacers
When searching for suspension products that will level your Ford F150 or Dodge Ram 1500, you may run across coil spring spacer which is a leveling kit. But what separates the hd coil springs from coil spring spacers? Coil spring spacers will help you raise the front of your truck and eliminate the nose down look but unlike heavy duty coil springs, they will not add load support. We normally recommend our customers who are not in need of load support but need front lift to level out their truck to go with a leveling kit like a coil spring spacer.
We also offer different types of lifted & load support suspension products including SumoSprings and Timbren Suspension Kits. Both the sumosprings and timbren ses will provide additional load support and eliminate sagging from that snow plow or heavy duty winch.
Heavy Duty Coil Springs Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is it okay to go over my Ford F450 weight capacity?
A: The answer is NO. When adding coil springs you should NEVER go over your vehicles weight capacity. By doing so, you can damage your suspension and create a hazard situation for yourself and your vehicle.
Q: Occasionally I put a snow plow onto my Dodge Ram, do I need to have constant weight?
A: You do not need to have a constant load on your truck. However, if you occasionally add additional weight to your truck, the HD coil springs will create a smoother ride.
Q: How do I know if my existing factory OEM coil springs need to be replaced?
A: : The tall tale sign that you need to replace your factory OEM coil springs is if your Dodge truck or Ford truck begins to sag which will lead to poor handling when driving. This can be caused by your coil springs being worn out or broken. When this happens, it is recommended that you replace them. We also offer Lifted Coil Springs for commercial drivers who are almost always loaded but are not extremely worried about a somewhat stiff ride.
