Ford Excursion 4wd Anti-Sway Bars by Hellwig are an easy and affordable way to upgrade your vehicles handling performance. The torsional effect of the sway bar will significantly reduce sway and body roll. The sway bar will help to transfer the pressure on the outboard wheels and apply opposite pressure on the inboard wheels. The sway bar works well, my only negative comment is that the threads on the bolts and nuts were not clean and of poor quality.

Installed this on my 2001 4WD Excursion, took the body roll out and helped the curve handling and wandering in the front end this model is notorious known for, I'm very pleased with the upgrade and the install was not bad, the worst of it was jacking the beast up on jack stands to get to it, I also used the F-250 front end B code leaf springs from SD, the soft ride add a leaf from SD in the rear springs and got a 1" 1/2 lift in the front, 2" lift in the rear that significantly helped with ride and handling, I pull a 22 foot Bay Boat hundreds of miles and this has made it a lot less stress full in traffic, no more white knuckle trips wandering all over the road dodging 18 wheelers, one note of caution, pay attention to your emergency brake cable mount connection, if you get this wrong it will cause your cable to wear, take a lot of pictures with cell phone before install for reference. I HIGHLY recommended this product.

I purchased this sway bar to help with the sway in my excursion. Install time was about an hour and I had it done. I noticed an immediate difference in the sway after I installed this. The excursion now feels more controlled and safer. I have been running it on the "softest" setting (there are 3 positions) and it still is a night and day difference. Great product! I recommend for any driving but especially if you tow.

Installed on a fairly low mileage 2wd Excursion V-10 used for towing our large boat. Near upper end of vehicle towing capacity with this boat. Had a friend install with a lift - no install issues and shipped promptly from SD Truck Springs. Very happy with the purchase and driving/handling changes - also saw improvements with no boat in tow.

Item is well packaged. Instructions could be little better but wording and pictures make it possible. Sway bar really turned excursion into a cornering machine, not that it is one but stopped body roll and made rear of ex. Feel stiffer but not to much. Would definitely recommend to any one with excursion that doesn't have one to do it asap.

Well worth the money and made a huge difference in stiffening up my 7.3 excursion. Depending on websites, you may see comments on how poor the instructions are. They have been updated. I also did a spring swap, V in front and C in back. Combine new truck springs with sway bar and the excursion will feel solid!

The sway bar was easy to install in the driveway. Ford should have never sold an Excursion without a sway bar. Truly makes the vehicle safer to drive.
