1999-2012 Ford F53 Motorhome Class A (16,000 to 22,000 GVWR) - Firestone "Ride-Rite" Air Bag Helper Springs [REAR]

It was tough drilling a couple holes through the frame but has proven to be worth every drop of sweat. . at 50 psi the air bags provide a Great ride and control improvement. Cornering and sway control is really good now. at 20K lbs. the coach rides great. After 2 weeks and 500 miles I have had no air leakage.

I wrote a review for the front airbags and they were much easier to install with one modification. The rear bags were a different story. The instructions were essentially useless. My motor-home is a 2018 Coachman Mirada with a 2017 Ford F-53 chassis. Rated at 22K with a 240" wheel base. After checking directly with Firestone I was told they should fit. The instructions listed using an existing hole in the frame. On the later models (after 2014) I was told these holes do not exist. I had to "fit" the airbags myself to the correct location using pictures and some common sense. Fortunately I was a mechanic in earlier in my career and the fitment is not that complicated. Drilling the four holes for the brackets on each side was another story. Make sure and get good quality bits, lubricate the area to be drilled and take your time. Installed this kit myself, instructions where easy to follow. I didn't get any increase in ride hight but it certainly smoothed out the ride.

Instruction images in booklet generic and not terribly clear on location. Almost no online videos for this model. After hours of watching youtube and winging it, got the job done. Product quality appears to be standard, maybe slightly above. Bolt quality substandard.

Installed the air bags last year & have only driven the motorhome several times since then but it seems to be good. No complaints at this time.

Got an e-mail from SD asking how my air bags worked out. Could'nt click on your site and get to the review section so I'm sending you an e-mail. The air helpers work just fine. They were pretty easy to install on my 99 Winnebago Brave. I'll be on my second year using them and I'm very happy.

Installed in 2013 RV with Ford F53 chassis. Improved the ride and control 100%. Only problem was in install, using existing holes in frame, the air bags are angled forward by about 20 degrees (off vertical). They work great, and hold air for a day's travel. Would certainly recommend to a friend.

Very nice system. Easy to install and good instructions. Had to cut away brackets on what the manufacturer of rv installed to access the two factory punched holes that system uses . Easy to adjust air pressure . Helped the difference in sag on one side the way rv is loaded. Ride is very good now . Would recommend and quality product

THE AIRBAGS KIT IS GREAT EASY TO INSTALL WOULD RECOMEND THIS AIRBAG KIT TO MANY OF MY RV FRINEDS ALSO THE DELIVERY TIME WAS FAST.
