Rancho was founded in the mid 1950 in Long beach California as Rancho Jeep supply. They quickly grew into the off-roading and performance supply giants they are today. In 1988 rancho launched there best selling item, The RS5000 shock absorber. By 1990 rancho was bought by Tenneco which help them quickly expanded to include the world’s first five-way adjustable shock absorber. This allowed all off-roader to adjust the level of compression and rebound dampening to modify the shocks to the ride they need. This allowed them to launch their first intelligent shock, the RSX shock. As the years passed they continued to learn and grow which allow them to add fully engineered, industrial leading shocks, which include the very popular RS9000xl, the loaded quick-lift and pro series plus suspension systems to one of the world's most recognizable and technologically leading brands. Rancho suspension system shocks and accessories deliver rugged performance for highway to off-roading environments. Rancho’s products to date are produced but Tenneco, a manufacturing company that is best known for it ride-control and emission brands. The most commonly knows of these brands are Monroe shocks and struts, Walker Exhaust, GIllet and Clevite, Elastomer, and Dynomax.

Rancho appeals to Ford, Chevy/GMC, Dodge, Hummer, Jeep, Toyota, and Nissan drivers who want to upgrade to suspension that can encompass highway driving to off-roading.
