Description
Firestone’s Standard Duty Compressor Systems are available for your load support needs. This compressor meets the needs of moderate usage and medium towing applications and is perfect for towing boats or hauling a loads in the back of your ½, ¾, or 1 ton pickups with your Coil Rite, Ride-Rite or Sport-Rite airbag system. This compressor simplifies the up and down maintenance of airbags to a press of a button, rather than a stop at a service station.
Firestone air accessory systems provide an instant air source for all air suspension products, including Coil-Rite, Ride-Rite, and Sport-Rite Air Bags. These kits are backed by a 1 year manufacturer's warranty.
The Firestone 2158 provides equal inflation of both air springs, controlling both of them together with the same switch. This Air Command utilizes a standard duty compressor and a single path white gauge (2572).

Firestone Ride-Rite 2158 FAQ with SD Truck Springs
Q: What is the difference between standard duty and heavy duty? Should I be buying a heavy duty kit instead?
A: Standard Duty Air Compressors and Heavy Duty Air Compressors can be categorized by two main factors, overall usage and the time it takes to inflate each spring. PSI rating is the easiest way to tell how long it will take for proper inflation but if you aren't hauling heavy loads every single day then the standard duty system is the one for you. Q: Where should I mount the compressor?
A: You can mount the compressor inside or outside of the cab, what ever seems fit for you. Try to avoid areas where the compressor may be damaged by the elements or making too much noise and you will be good to go.
Q: Do I need anything else to get this compressor up and running?
A: The Firestone 2158 Standard Duty Air Compressor comes with everything needed to get the job done. Anything outside of the included kit components is 100% optional and is not needed for the air compressor to function.
Additional Options include a mounting bracket to mount the compressor to the frame and can be purchased together at any time.

Hello, I would definitely recommend this product to a friend. These airbags and compressor made my life a lot easier. The installation was simple and easy.
All the parts were included in the package.
I liked follow-up process tracking, processing emails.

Firestone "Standard Duty" Air Compressor are the best thing I did to my truck.
I now pull a 8 1/2 × 20 ft trailer full of bounce houses that weights almost 10 thousand pounds with my 99 Chevy tahoe with ease....
Thanks so much for a great product

The compressor has been working properly since installation.
The unit was installed on a customers truck which we had installed the air bags with manual inflation. They wanted to upgrade to the compressor and have been happy. I am not sure what pressure they are running bags at. They would recommend the compressor to anyone that has a air bag system

The onboard compressor is the only way to go. The convenience of changing pressure at any time and anyplace is great. The kit comes with everything you need for DIY mechanics. I made a mounting plate so I could install it under the hood on the fender of my 2006 Toyota Tacoma. I've had the compressor installed for about a year without any problems...

The install was pretty straightforward and is possible for anyone with basic mechanical ability. I have the helper bags in my vehicle, so I run from 5-35psi, which makes the included gauge pretty useless, since it is 0-150 psi. It would be nice if the included gauge was of the correct range for the needed application. I ended up getting an autometer boost gauge, which added another $100 to the install.

For the past 40 years of towing horse and car trailers I have had supplemental air suspension of some kind on the rear axle of my tow pick-up or van. This application is the first with an onboard compressor and I will not be without one again. The compressor is mounted on the auxiliary battery tray in the engine compartment of my GMC Sierra with the single switch w/gauge mounted to the inner fender. It does require getting under the hood but there is limited mounting space in the cabin. The system works excellently and provides a level ride when the leveling bars just don't do the job, or the truck box load is a little more than the springs can handle. I would recommend this compressor kit, as well as the airbags to anyone, however, my single switch unit failed in the inflate position shortly after the warranty ran out and I have been using a jumper wire ever since. Due to the cost of a new switch, the inconvenience is acceptable.

I bought this kit back in April of 2011 and it has performed flawlessly, exactly as expected since it was installed. I am somewhat mechanically inclined and found it very easy to install. Having the onboard compressor to fill the airbags is vey handy and makes the system much more usable as compared to friends who have the manually inflated systems. I installed the system for when pulling my camper and hauling a load like a snowmobile or ATV. It works excellent for that. I don't even use an equalizer hitch with my camper anymore. I will definitely have a system like this on my new ruck and would recommend to anyone looking for the system for similar reasons.

I love it. But I bought a newer dodge ram that has a coil spring suspension. So now I have to buy a different style air bag. Other then that I would recommend the product to anyone

The firestone air compressor you sent me performed better than I thought. The compressor was very easy to install, had it installed in less than one hour. It was the best thing I did, real easy to adjust the camper and horse trailer height on the fly. The air bags gave me more towing and hauling capacity than I ever thought. I would recommend this product to family and friends.

This is one of the best purchase I made. You control your air bag on demand. I'm pulling a camper trailer, 26Ft. The air bag and the compressor made the ride lot more enjoyable. I should install it the first day I drive my Silverado.

I bought this kit because I haul a lot of firewood for personal use in my fireplace. It just made sense to be able to air-up when I load up whenever, and wherever I needed. The kit overall was of good quality components, with the exception of the pump.
Ok, granted, it is a basic pump. I'll even go on record to say it is a cheap pump. Unfortunately Firestone charges a premium for this cheap pump. It's pumping capacity is pretty minimal, albeit airbags don't have a lot of volume, so minimal in this case was adequate. Problem being is that the pump just quit after 6 months of fairly infrequent use. Not sure why. But the stalled pump would draw excessive current and blow the fuse as a locked rotor on any motor would.
So, Firestone replaced the pump with no hassles, and they paid shipping both ways. Kudos for that. Second problem... Pump number two failed in about another six months. Really Firestone? Really???
So I went shopping for a Viair pump that was much, I mean very much, mo

Got this system little over 3 years ago. Still pumps up quickly. I think between the bags and the wiring it took about 2-3 hours to install. Overall very happy with this product. Never has any problems. Highly recommend.
