Always check b4 you drive. Load leveling,on the fly" with belt driven air compressor.simple, but without ....,.very ,dangerous. Replace shock absorbers ,at the same time . Drives correctly. Handles overspeed*uneven offroad, rain, rebounding out of control from full extension to stops no longer an issue. Thankyou all truck suspension peoples yeah!
I was wondering why my little motorhome would "bound" over dips in the road and wander while driving requiring constant driver's input. I discovered the original airbags were completely ruined. I found the SD Truck Springs website and decided order some new airbags. Installation takes a bit longer (at least for me it did). The airbags themselves are not the easiest to get inside the springs, but doable. Once the airbags are installed, the air lines and fittings are much easier to get routed and fastened down. Our first road trip with the new airbags was a LOT nicer. My motorhome didn't "bound" and didn't wander like it did before. My SD Truck Springs airbags made a world of difference in ride quality! Now my wife says I should go ahead and get the air compressor setup too!
Firestone 4100s worked fine on my 37 foot motorhome fromt springs, better ride than without air bags. Installation done by deflating and twisting and forcing into spring coil center hole; pad donuts on either end of air bag guided in with long nose; removal of old bags by cutting out old donuts with dremel saw and pulled out old airbag with locking long nose plier while twisting motion. Amazing kit with very cheap price .
Fairly easy to install except for the spacers. I still have one that isn't quite right. Straightforward information on instructions but needs more detail about installing the spacer disks. Found out after installing that a friend recommended using grease to hold top spacer in place during install.
I received my package on time. The air springs went in and are working fine.
good product works as should but i had defective air line that connects to the air bags, no help from SDTrucksprings, have to do warranty thru firestone which is a pain for such simple fix
The Firestone "Coil-Rite" air bags were delivered in a timely manner. I followed the instructions and had a little difficulty installing the first bag but the second one went much faster. I used my air compressor and filled them to the manufacturers specifications. I was pleased with the improvement in the comfort and handling of my motor home. I highly recommend this product.
I tried several approaches to install these.. Gave up. I was going to pay 180.00 to have the springs removed to put the bags in. I tried the review advice, did not work. This is what works. Why can't the directions just say it right. Take the air out. Fold the bag in half lengthwise. Compress as tight as possible and put a 3" hose clamp around it. Now put another clamp about 2" down. Tighten with a socket and ratchet. Get the end started and alternate the clamps till the end. Hose clamps are the essential key. Probably an hour job after you get set up.
Instructions seemed odd to remove old bags, but worked like a charm. New air bags went in as instructed. Did not have remote fill lines before and instructions were very helpful. Took longer than estimated, but I'm old, round, and arthritic. Motorhome is much more stable in turns now.
As a mechanic by trade, I found twisting the bags was difficult. I used a vacuum pump to remove air. Valve stem did not sit straight. Have driven over 10,000 miles and the are performing perfectly.
cuts down on body roll up front. takes time to find correct air pressure. they work good. were worth the money and got great delivery time from SDtrucksprings.
I found installing the air bags to be harder to install than advetised. I'm an old guy so it took great effort to insert the air bag through that small hole. Once the first one installed the second went faster. The job took about 3 hrs. Also had a problem with one fitting loosing air. I had to remove and recut the tube several times to get it to hold. I believe the tubing my have been damaged (scored) on the frame works when I was pulling it through. Beside that, the bags work quite well.
Could never get them small enough to fit through the hole in the bottom of the spring holder. Tried all the 'tricks' like warming them up in very hot water but nothing ever worked.
These air bags helped level my motorhome the stock bags were bad and didn't hold air so this was a replacement. However it was very easy to do with this kit and the directions. I can't believe the ride now and how level it sits.
Shipping was good came fast the video on changing the spring was very help full so they were easy to replace and install I have change 1 once before there were much better quality and the tubing was heavy. the ride is great would buy them again if I need them
The part fit perfectly, and I was very happy with your service
Did the Air Bag Kit Perform the Way You Expected? Yes Was the Air Bag Kit the Quality you Expected? Yes very good design Did the Air Bag Kit Help with the Sag and/or Sway of the Vehicle? Yes it help it our motor home was designed with them. How Easy was the Installation of the Air Bag Kit? physically hard, technical so what easy. The Instructions where basic, but I had a friend that installed a set a year earlier and he let me know that as he crushed the bag he began twisting it and zip tying it like crazy, twisting it and collapsing it to get it thru the small hole. Then used grease on it and the suspension and worked the zip ties down and it went in. Would You Recommend This Product to a Friend? Yes with my additional notes that I mentioned above.
I was in disbelieve that I could install these bags in the front coil springs of my motor home without removing the coils but; I followed the instructions to the letter and successfully removed my old bags and installed the new ones in about 3 hours without removing my coil springs. I also completed this work in a RV park. Bags installed and work fantastic. Kit included all the parts I needed to complete this replacement. I am a happy customer!
The Air Bag helper springs kit was exactly what I was looking for. The customer service was very clear on how to install this and told me if I had any problems to call back. This is a great quality product that is easy to install.
